When to use Chezmoi
Choose if
You manage dotfiles through chezmoi and want an agent layer that detects duplicate templates, validates required files, keeps macOS and Windows configurations in sync, and syncs MCP server configuration — with a `chezmoi diff` gate before any apply.
Avoid if
You don't use chezmoi (this skill is chezmoi-specific — won't help with raw stow, yadm, or hand-managed dotfiles), or you need a fully automated apply without a human-approval gate. Note the ClawHub registry's moderation suspicion flag before broad rollout.
Risk Flags
- LOW data_quality ClawHub moderation flagged this skill as 'suspicious.llm_suspicious' (the listing metadata reports a suspicion code); README emphasizes running `chezmoi diff` before applying changes and obtaining user approval via AskUserQuestion.
- LOW scope Scope is limited to dotfile management within the chezmoi framework on macOS/Windows; commit-splitting is delegated to a separate `commit-splitter` skill.
