When to use MCPDomain

Choose if

Your agent's user wants to actually buy a domain inside the chat (rather than open a registrar dashboard) and you want one MCP that covers the full lifecycle — availability check, brandable suggestion, registration via Stripe, DNS, email forwarding, AI-bot intel. Hosted endpoint means zero install. Whois privacy on by default. Cheaper for repeat purchases than going through a generic registrar UI because the agent does the DNS configuration in one turn.

Avoid if

You only need to check domain availability or look up DNS — a free WHOIS API is lighter weight. Avoid for enterprise registrar features (multi-user accounts, audit logs, SSO, bulk transfers); the product is built for individuals and small projects. Avoid if you need a registrar you've already vetted into your compliance program — MCPDomain is a thin layer over OpenSRS, but the operational surface is single-developer.
