When to use Hyades

Choose if

The agent's output channel can't render LaTeX (terminal, plain-text email, code comments, log files) and you still need readable math. Hyades produces Unicode text art that survives in any monospace context. Zero auth, zero cost, runs as a Cloudflare Worker or a local binary — friction-free to add to a session.

Avoid if

The output surface already renders LaTeX (most chat UIs, Jupyter, GitHub markdown, Notion). Also avoid for pixel-perfect typesetting — Unicode approximation has visible limits with complex notation (matrices, large fractions, integrals over wide expressions).

Risk Flags
